Shooting Stars, Sporting Lagos Locked In Transfer Battle For Hadi

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and Sporting Lagos are reportedly set for a fierce transfer tussle over highly-rated striker Haruna Hadi ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Ibadan-based club are understood to have submitted an offer to reigning NPFL champions Remo Stars for the forward, who emerged as one of the league’s standout performers last season.

However, Shooting Stars face strong competition from Sporting Lagos, who are also keen to secure the services of the talented attacker as they seek to strengthen their squad for the new campaign.

Hadi’s impressive performances in the NPFL have significantly increased his value, making him one of the most sought-after players in the domestic transfer market. His pace, finishing ability and attacking versatility played a key role for Remo Stars during a successful season.

Shooting Stars are actively rebuilding their squad after finishing third in the league and narrowly missing out on the title. Club officials believe the addition of a proven goalscorer could strengthen their chances of mounting a serious championship challenge next season.

Sporting Lagos, meanwhile, are equally determined to bolster their attacking options and view Hadi as a player capable of making an immediate impact.

While negotiations are ongoing, Remo Stars are under no pressure to sell one of their prized assets and are expected to demand a substantial fee before considering any deal.

The race for Hadi’s signature is likely to be one of the most closely watched transfer sagas of the NPFL off-season, with both clubs eager to gain an advantage ahead of the new campaign.
