ABUJA — The Federal High Court, on Wednesday, announced that its annual vacation will commence on July 27.
According to the court, within the vacation period, only eight judges will be available to provide judicial services in urgent matters across the federation.
The court, in a statement that was signed by its Director of Information, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, said its Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu Judicial Divisions will remain operational to entertain cases requiring immediate judicial attention.
“Pursuant to Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb. (UK), has officially approved and announced the Court’s Annual Vacation for the year 2026, together with the roster of Judges designated to sit during the vacation period.
“The Annual Vacation is scheduled to commence on Monday, 27th July 2026, and end on Friday, 11th September 2026.
“During the vacation period, the Court will continue to provide judicial services in urgent matters through designated Vacation Courts.
Accordingly, the Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu Judicial Divisions will remain operational to entertain cases requiring immediate judicial attention.
“Members of the public and legal practitioners are advised to file and prosecute urgent matters only at the designated Vacation Courts closest to them.
“The designated Vacation Judges are as follows: Abuja Division — Hon. Justice J. O. Abdulmalik and Hon. Justice O. A. Egwuatu.
“Lagos Division: Hon. Justice Akintayo Aluko and Hon. Justice Ogazi F. Nkemakonam. “Port Harcourt Division: Hon. Justice P. M. Ayua and Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed.
“Enugu Division: Hon. Justice F. O. G. Ogunbanjo and Hon. Justice M. T. Segun-Bello.
“The Chief Judge wishes his fellow Lordships a pleasant vacation in advance,” the statement read.
