…Gov. Fintiri Appoints Coordinator
The Adamawa Digital Academy has commenced training activities, a major initiative aimed at equipping youths and women across the state with in-demand digital and technology skills.
The Academy, established under the Adamawa 2.0 Digital Transformation Agenda of Governor Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, is designed to provide training in Digital Foundations, Software Development, Data Science and Analytics, Creative and Visual Arts, Cybersecurity, and Digital Marketing.
The initiative is targeted at preparing young people and civil servants for opportunities in the rapidly evolving global digital economy.
Governor Fintiri has provided the necessary infrastructure, equipment, and institutional support required for the Academy to effectively deliver on its mandate.
As part of efforts to fully operationalize the institution, Governor Fintiri has approved the appointment of Dr. Sumayya Babangida Sabo as Programme Coordinator of the Adamawa Digital Academy.
Dr. Sabo is an accomplished Information Systems professional, education administrator, and programme manager with extensive experience in digital skills development, academic administration, innovation programmes, and information technology management. She currently serves as Tutor and IT Coordinator at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola.
In her new role, Dr. Sabo will oversee the day-to-day coordination of the Academy’s programmes, student onboarding, stakeholder engagement, academic administration, and the implementation of strategic partnerships aimed at positioning the institution as a leading digital skills academy in Nigeria and across Africa.
The appointment forms part of broader efforts to train over 100,000 youths and civil servants in digital and emerging technology skills.
While congratulating Dr. Sabo on her appointment, Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in her ability to drive the vision of the Academy and wished her success in the assignment.
The government also encouraged young people in the state to take advantage of the opportunities being provided through the Academy.
