AY Faces Personal Criticism After Speaking Out On Governance Issues

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has faced criticism over a post he shared on X about governance in Nigeria.

In the post, the comedian criticised poor leadership and urged Nigerians not to support leaders who fail to serve the people. He argued that no one is immune to the effects of a failing system.

His words on X:

“Supporting bad governance because it benefits you today is a dangerous gamble.
Many think they can dine with the devil using a long spoon. Sooner or later, the spoon disappears, and they realise they were never exempt from the consequences.
A broken system eventually serves everyone the same meal.”

AY added that while some people may believe their connections or position protect them, the consequences of bad governance eventually affect everyone.

His remarks sparked mixed reactions online. While some users supported his views, others criticised him in the comment section.

Several responses referenced personal events from his past, including his ‘failed’ marriage, leading to heated debates across social media.
