A British couple have been arrested after their six-month-old baby tested positive for cocaine, following an incident at a hotel in Benalmadena, a popular resort on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
According to Mail Online, the pair had left their three young children, aged six months, two, and four, alone in a hotel room while they went out partying.
Investigators arrived to find the room in a mess, with the eldest child, just four years old, looking after the younger siblings.
Sources close to the investigation described the conditions the children were found in as “worrying.”
All three children have since been taken into temporary care by Spain’s regional Junta de Andalucia government and transferred to Malaga’s Materno Infantil Hospital for medical check-ups.
It remains unclear whether police waited for the couple to return to the hotel before making the arrests, or located them while they were still out.
