Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is on the verge of completing a move to Inter Miami CF after agreeing to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract.
According to reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, all parties have reached a verbal agreement, with only the final paperwork and official announcement remaining. The move will see the 34-year-old join forces with Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer after bringing his two-year spell at Old Trafford to a close.
Casemiro enjoyed a strong resurgence during the latter stages of the season, playing a key role in United’s push for qualification to the UEFA Champions League. However, the club and player reportedly agreed not to extend his contract, paving the way for a fresh challenge in the United States.
Inter Miami had long been considered favourites to sign the former Real Madrid star, despite interest from clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia.
The opportunity to play alongside Messi is believed to have been a major factor in Casemiro’s decision to continue his career in Florida.
