Stephen Curry is reportedly set to hold talks with LeBron James about a stunning move to the Golden State Warriors this offseason.
According to ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel, the Warriors are serious about recruiting LeBron once free agency begins. “Golden State is very open to chasing LeBron James, and they plan to make a run at him this summer,” Siegel said.
He added, “LeBron is at the tail end of his career, but he can still play at an elite level—we just saw that in the playoffs. Pairing him with Steph is something the Warriors will actively explore over the coming weeks.”
While a deal once seemed unlikely, Siegel says momentum is building: “A source told us Steph intends to meet with LeBron and discuss a potential Warriors move before free agency kicks off.”
LeBron, who just finished a $52.6 million expiring contract, will enter his 24th NBA season with full control over his next team. The Lakers remain the favorites to keep him, but Cleveland and Golden State have also been linked to the superstar.
Despite his age, LeBron continues to produce. In his 22nd season, he averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists across 60 games, shooting 51.5% from the field.
