The countdown to the biggest FIFA World Cup in history is officially on and the squad list for all 48 countries are officially confirmed.
For the first time, 48 countries will compete for football’s most coveted prize when the 2026 World Cup kicks off across the United States, Canada and Mexico. After months of qualification campaigns, injuries, debates and selection dilemmas, every participating nation has now finalized its squad for the tournament.
National team managers have spent the past few weeks making difficult decisions, balancing experienced veterans with emerging talents as they trimmed their provisional rosters down to the final 26-man squads. The result is a fascinating mix of global superstars, World Cup veterans, rising teenage sensations and surprise inclusions.
The confirmed squads feature some of the biggest names in football, including Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane, alongside a new generation of stars such as Lamine Yamal, Endrick and Gilberto Mora.
The 2026 edition will also be a tournament of contrasts. Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon arrives as the oldest player in the competition at 43 years old, while several teenagers are preparing for their first taste of football’s grandest stage.
