The Association of Emeritus Lawmakers of the Enugu State House of Assembly (AELESHA) has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his third anniversary in office, citing what it described as significant achievements across key sectors of the state’s economy.
The association, comprising former Speakers and principal officers of the Enugu State House of Assembly, passed the resolution during its plenary held on June 3, 2026, at the Enugu Sports Club, Club Riad, Enugu.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Rt. Hon. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the group commended the Mbah administration for what it called transformative projects in transportation, education, healthcare and infrastructure.
The former lawmakers highlighted initiatives such as Enugu Air, the development of bus terminals, urban and gateway road networks, the construction of Smart Schools and Type II Hospitals across the state’s 260 electoral wards, the New Enugu Smart City project, the International Conference Centre, and the ongoing revitalisation of the Presidential Hotel.
They also applauded the administration’s allocation of more than 33 per cent of the state budget to education and the commissioning of the Haier factory, a $20 million assembly plant for the production of laptops, smartphones and spare parts.
The association further praised the 042 Ride Taxi Youth Empowerment Scheme, describing it as a programme capable of creating sustainable employment opportunities for young people while improving public transportation services across the state.
AELESHA also expressed satisfaction with the administration’s support for Rangers International Football Club, noting that the club represents the resilience, courage and enduring spirit of the Igbo people.
According to the group, Rangers remains an important symbol of Igbo identity and determination, and Governor Mbah’s commitment to sustaining the club’s success has helped preserve that legacy.
The association wished the governor continued success and reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at advancing development in Enugu State.
