The MakeMee Elegant Foundation has launched its Boys2Men Initiative and unveiled Amb. Kingsley Tolulope Agboola and Mr. David Olajumoke as ambassadors of the programme aimed at mentoring young boys and preparing them to become responsible men, future leaders, and productive members of society.
The initiative is designed to provide guidance, character development, and mentorship for boys, helping them grow into responsible husbands, disciplined individuals, and men of integrity who can contribute positively to their communities.
At the event in Abuja, the founder of MakeMee Elegant Foundation, Mrs Kehinde Adelaja-Okoroafor, said the programme was established to address the growing need for proper mentorship and training for boys, who are often overlooked in discussions surrounding youth development.
According to her, society tends to place greater emphasis on women and the girl child, while neglecting the developmental needs of boys, a situation she believes can contribute to negative behaviour and social challenges later in life.
She explained that exposing boys to successful role models in their immediate environment would help shape their perspectives, build their confidence, and foster positive values.
“We have inaugurated ambassadors in over 21 countries and we want to ensure our boys are given proper mentoring and training,” she said.
Responding to his appointment, Amb. Kingsley Agboola commended the foundation for initiating a programme focused on the development of the boy child and the grooming of future leaders.
He described the Boys2Men Initiative as a timely intervention capable of addressing moral and leadership challenges among young people through mentorship and positive engagement.
