Manchester City will have 19 players who last featured in a competitive club match for them representing their countries at this summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup across North America.
That figure is not only the highest of any club in English football, but also the most of any club worldwide heading into the tournament.
Across world football, 17 clubs have 10 or more players at the World Cup who last played their club football for them. Five of those clubs are from England.
Manchester City sit top of the global list with 19 representatives, ahead of several European giants in what highlights the depth of talent spread across elite clubs.
Joint-second are Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, with 17 players each who last represented them before linking up with their national teams for the tournament. The French side’s standing comes just days after beating Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final.
German champions Bayern Munich follow closely with 18 players, while Barcelona complete the top five with 15.
Several other clubs also contribute heavily to the World Cup talent pool. Crystal Palace and Manchester United each have 12 players represented, alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal and Spain’s Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool also feature prominently with 11 players at the tournament, matched by Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Completing the group of clubs with 10 or more players represented are Slavia Prague, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid and Fenerbahce.
