An unconfirmed number of workers were said to be trapped under the rubble of a two-storey building, which collapsed on Wednesday morning in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
occurred on Dr. Peter Odili Road, close to Eterna Filling Station, Port-Harcourt, less than 24 hours after another building collapsed in the Iwofe axis of the state capital, though without any casualty.
Eyewitness told LEADERSHIP that construction workers had barely resumed their job for the day when the building, which was under construction, caved in.
It was gathered that two people have been rescued from the rubble and taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Emergency workers were continuing to reach others believed to be trapped beneath the debris as rescue operations were ongoing at the scene as at the time of filing this report.
