Manchester United are reportedly exploring a summer move for experienced defender David Alaba as manager Ruben Amorim continues efforts to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
According to reports in Italy, the Red Devils have made an approach to Real Madrid regarding the availability of the Austrian international, who is expected to leave the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
United are believed to be prioritising defensive reinforcements after an inconsistent campaign at the back, with Alaba emerging as one of several options under consideration.
The 33-year-old defender, renowned for his versatility and leadership, has endured an injury-hit spell in Spain and made only 47 appearances across the last three seasons. Despite his limited game time, Alaba’s pedigree remains unquestioned following successful spells with both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, where he won multiple domestic and European honours.
Should the move materialise, United would be adding a vastly experienced figure capable of operating at centre-back, left-back and in midfield.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also weighing up attacking reinforcements, with Bournemouth winger Eli Junior Kroupi reportedly attracting interest from manager Mikel Arteta.
The highly rated youngster enjoyed an impressive debut Premier League season, scoring 13 goals and emerging as one of the division’s brightest attacking prospects.
Reports suggest Bournemouth value Kroupi at more than £80 million, a figure that could complicate any potential negotiations. However, Arsenal may intensify their interest if uncertainty grows over the futures of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli during the transfer window.
Arteta is understood to admire Kroupi’s pace, creativity and eye for goal as Arsenal continue to assess options capable of strengthening their frontline for next season.
