The General Christopher Gwabin Musa (GCGM) Support Initiative has distributed food items to orphans and vulnerable persons as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the prevailing economic hardship in the country.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Convener of the initiative, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, popularly known as Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu, said the gesture was inspired by the humanitarian and people-oriented leadership style of the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), who serves as the Grand Patron of the group.
Danfulani said the initiative was committed to complementing efforts aimed at improving the welfare of citizens, particularly the less privileged, while promoting national unity and peaceful coexistence.
He commended the Minister of Defence for his commitment to addressing insecurity across the country, noting that General Musa has continued to work towards restoring peace and stability since his appointment.
He urged Nigerians to support security agencies through prayers and cooperation, stressing that collective efforts were needed to overcome the nation’s security challenges.
Danfulani also called on citizens to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the developmental programmes of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, saying national progress required the backing of all Nigerians.
In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Imam of Zangon Daura Jummaat Mosque, Sheikh Bashir Adam Saleh Algoni, described General Musa’s appointment as Minister of Defence as well deserved, citing his distinguished military career and contributions to national security.
According to the cleric, the food distribution programme reflected concern for the welfare of ordinary Nigerians and demonstrated a commitment to humanitarian service.
He urged Nigerians to continue praying for the armed forces and government leaders as they work to address the country’s challenges.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Afaka Chapter, Pastor Kola Kayode, commended the initiative for providing relief and hope to vulnerable members of society.
He underscored the importance of national prayers and public support for government efforts aimed at tackling security and economic challenges.
Similarly, the Head of Yamman Afaka, Mr. Tanimu Magaji (JP), praised the intervention and reiterated his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, urging citizens to remain united and supportive of policies designed to improve the lives of Nigerians.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, unity and prosperity, as community leaders, clerics and beneficiaries called for sustained support for efforts to enhance security and drive development across the country.
