Zaire Wade, the eldest son of former American basketball star Dwyane Wade, has been formally charged with a felony following his arrest last month in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.
According to US legal reports, Wade faces one felony charge after prosecutors reviewed the case. He was initially booked on three separate allegations following his arrest by law enforcement officials in Burbank, California.
Police authorities stated that officers responded to a residence at about 5:30 am on June 21, 2026, after receiving emergency reports of a woman screaming inside the home.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers allegedly found Wade and a woman who had suffered multiple cuts and bruises to her face. Despite her reported injuries, she was not taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Wade was initially detained on suspicion of felony domestic violence, making criminal threats, and false imprisonment. Authorities also issued an emergency protective order immediately following the incident to ensure the victim’s safety.
The suspect was later released from custody after posting a 50,000-dollar bond.
Official police call logs showed that neighbours alerted the authorities after hearing loud yelling and stomping coming from the residence, which raised immediate concerns that someone inside was in serious distress.
The case remains before the courts, and the legal representatives for Wade have noted that the allegations against him have not been proven.
