Veteran Fuji musician Abass Akande Obesere is scheduled to perform in Abuja later this year as the headline act for ‘Overthrow: The Legacy Continues’, a concert billed for Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The event will be held at Sol Lounge Resort, Jahi, Abuja and is being organised by Stealth Mode Ltd, powered by Zillionaire Media Global Services Ltd, in partnership with Sidophobia Entertainment.
According to the organisers, the concert is intended to celebrate Obesere’s contributions to Fuji music and Nigeria’s cultural heritage. They also said the event will highlight the continued relevance of the genre in the country’s entertainment industry.
Known as Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yoruba Land, Obesere has been active in the Fuji music scene for more than three decades and is recognised for his energetic performances and distinctive style. The organisers said they anticipate over 5,000 attendees.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Stealth Mode Ltd, Kaycee Nnamdi Oguejiofor, described Obesere as an artist whose influence extends beyond music.
“Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere is more than an entertainer; he is a cultural institution whose impact transcends music. ‘Through Overthrow:The Legacy Continues’, we seek to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to African music and culture while delivering a world-class entertainment experience worthy of his legacy,” he noted.
