Popular Yoruba Actor, Comedian Dies, Leaving Nollywood In Mourning

The Yoruba film industry has been thrown into mourning following reports of the death of Nollywood actor and comedian Adeshina Okiki Oshin, popularly known as ‘Janmole’.

News of his passing emerged on June 1 after an Ibadan-based radio station, Success FM, announced the development in a Facebook post.

The radio station wrote: “Heartbreaking news hits the Yoruba movie industry as multi-talented actor, filmmaker, and comedian Adeshina Okiki Oshin, popularly known as Janmole, has reportedly passed away.”

The statement also conveyed condolences to his family, friends, the people of Okeho and the wider Nollywood community.

As of the time of this report, the cause of his death had not been confirmed.

News of his reported death has shocked many fans, particularly as it comes more than a year after he survived a serious accident. His recovery at the time had given hope to many who feared for his life.

His passing also marks another sad moment in the Yoruba movie industry as it follows the recent deaths of Patrick Okoye and veteran Yoruba actor Fesogboye Oyewole, adding to a difficult period for the industry.
