Scores of repentant Boko Haram terrorists, CJTF, soldiers killed in Borno village attack

Unspecified number of members of repentant Boko Haram terrorists who are complementing efforts of the military, including Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Soldiers have been killed when some armed Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists launched an attack on a military base in Mandaragirau Village of Biu local government area of Borno state, sources have said.

The incident which took place at about 4:am on Friday during heavy rainfall have also left scores of the insurgents dead and injured.

Mandaragirau, and outskirts of Biu located along the Biu-Damboa-Maiduguri which was closed down for motorists several years ago due to its unsafe, has witnessed deadly attacks in recent past.

A resident of Biu, Mallam Usman Yahaya told our Correspondent that he saw several military ambulances evacuating the dead and the injured ones into Biu town for medical attention.

Another source said “atleast 20 people mostly repentant terrorists and members of CJTF were killed, even as he said, no fewer than eight (8) Soldiers also paid the supreme price”.

All efforts to get confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Keneth Daso proved abortive at press time.
