Security Challenges Not Insurmountable, Sanwo-Olu Urges Support For Tinubu, Security Agencies

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has called on Nigerians to remain united and support President Bola Tinubu and security agencies amid recent security incidents recorded in parts of the country, saying the nation possesses the resilience and collective strength to overcome the challenges.

In a statement issued yesterday, Sanwo-Olu said the current security concerns should not weaken public confidence in the country’s ability to overcome adversity.

“We are Nigerians, our will is strong and our spirit is unbreakable,” the governor stated, adding that moments of national difficulty require citizens to stand together rather than deepen divisions.

According to him, the security threats confronting communities across the country demand collective responsibility and national solidarity.

“The forces of evil confronting our nation do not ask for our political affiliation before they kill, maim and destroy. So must our resolve and support for our nation be devoid of political leanings and divisive rhetorics,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu urged Nigerians across ethnic, religious and political lines to remain united, stressing that the current situation should strengthen national commitment to peace and stability.

“This is not a time for division or despair. It is a time to reaffirm our common identity and our shared commitment to peace, progress and national development,” he said.

The governor also called for support for victims of insecurity and expressed concern over the abduction of teachers and students in Orire local government area of Oyo State.

He maintained that government alone cannot address insecurity, urging citizens and communities to support lawful efforts through vigilance and intelligence sharing.

“I reiterate my confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and in the ability of our security and intelligence services to defeat the forces of evil unleashing terror attacks on soft targets within the civilian population,” he added.

Sanwo-Olu further commended security personnel serving across the country and said efforts to strengthen security architecture and improve intelligence gathering require patience, determination and national unity.

“This battle shall be won. Nigeria will prevail because the collective strength of our people is greater than the evil agenda of the few who are bent on making us live in fear and despair,” he said.
