The returning officer, Prof. Rosemary Ogu, made the announcement on Saturday night at the senatorial district collation centre in Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area of Rivers State.

Ogu said Nwogu satisfied all constitutional requirements and was duly elected to represent Rivers South-East senatorial district in the Senate.

“The candidates received the following votes: Douglas Fabeke, male of AA, total votes received 1,175; Osarosaka Ebenezer of the APC, 1,647 votes; Sam Kinani, male of LP, 367 votes; Nwogu Olaka Johnson, male of the PDP, 47,961 votes.
