Spyro Blames Extravagant Lifestyles For Financial Struggles Of Some Artistes

Nigerian singer-songwriter, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, best known as ‘Spyro’, has linked the financial struggles of some entertainers to excessive spending on women and lavish parties.

Speaking during a performance at a weekend event, the singer described such spending as a poor financial decision. He said there is nothing wrong with supporting women, but warned against going overboard.

Spyro urged men to focus on saving and investing rather than spending money on short-term pleasures. He claimed some of his colleagues lost their fortunes after using their first major earnings on parties and expensive trips to South Africa.

The singer said he chose a different path by concentrating on his music career and investments. He also revealed that after becoming famous, he received messages from women on Instagram, including offers to sponsor overseas trips, but turned them down to stay focused on his goals.

In his words:

“If you are here and you are spending money on women, I think you are wasting your time. I’m not saying you should not spend on your woman, but use your head.

“I know some of my colleagues who went broke because they made their first bag and blew it on parties and trips to South Africa. But I didn’t move that way, and that is why I am where I am.”
