The national leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has appointed a three-member Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of its Federal Capital Territory chapter for the next three months.
According to a letter signed by SWAN Secretary-General Ikenna Okonkwo, the committee comprises Edwin Akwueh (Chairman), Tamara Ebiwei (Secretary) and Linus T. Hagher (Member).
The appointments followed the dissolution of the chapter’s executive committee by the FCT Congress on 19 June.
The caretaker committee has been tasked with working alongside the SWAN Electoral Committee (SWANECO) to conduct elections for a substantive executive before the expiration of its three-month tenure.
SWAN President Isaiah Benjamin thanked the outgoing executive led by Kelechi Onwudiwe for their service and urged the caretaker committee to utilise its experience in ensuring the smooth administration of the chapter.
