Nigeria fashion designer, Ruth Erikan James, popularly known as ‘Veekee James’, has responded to criticism from social media users who questioned her use of Snapchat filters in a recent video.
The reactions quickly sparked debate online, with many users arguing that the use of filters should not be a cause for criticism.
One Snapchat user defended the designer, describing the backlash as unnecessary and praising her appearance.
The fan wrote:
“So it’s this video someone was dragging you with? Just because it’s double filter😒 Anyways, you loooook amazing 🥰 and I hope that whatever anyone is saying about you doesn’t affect you ❤️.”
Veekee James responded to the claims, saying they did not bother her. She said she was only enjoying the features available on Snapchat as a content creator. She also stated that she had no reason to feel insecure.
VeeKee responded:
“My dear 😂 ask me o🤣 Please I don’t want to laugh ooo… why am I on Snapchat as a creator if I will not enjoy the features! I’m the last person anybody can talk down on in the area of beauty😂😂 like I’m a full babe 😂😂.”
The fashion designer also said her beauty is part of her identity and brand. It plays a key role in her brand, and she proudly uses it to promote her business.
