Dangote, Atiku, Dantata, Others Donate To Borno Flood Victims

The Borno State Government has provided an update on the pledges and actual receipts for the Maiduguri relief fund.

NaijaChoice reports that donors include prominent figures such as Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, business mogul Aminu Dantata, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, among others.

The relief fund aims to assist millions affected by the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The update, released on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, and signed by Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babagana Zulum, details the pledges and receipts from corporate entities, state governments, legislative members, individuals, and NGOs.

“Kindly note that not all amounts listed were credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund for the Borno State Government. Similarly, details of the redeemed pledges of donations and material support will be announced in due course,” the statement added.

Updates are given at 7:00pm every day.
