During an “End Bad Governance” hunger protest in Kano, a group of boys took bold action by dragging a gallon of ‘Ororo’—vegetable oil—from a moving army truck. This incident occurred amidst a larger 10-day protest where Nigerian youths and citizens are expressing their grievances against President Tinubu‘s administration, citing severe hardship caused by poor economic policies just one year into his term.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the boys seizing the opportunity to take the gallon of oil while the truck was in motion. Despite the presence of a soldier on the truck, there was no attempt to intervene or retrieve the stolen item, leaving many to question the military’s response to the ongoing crisis.
