In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred just minutes ago, an accident at the University of Ilorin’s (UNILORIN) main gate has resulted in the tragic loss of several lives. According to initial reports, many passengers of a campus shuttle, known as “Korope,” have been confirmed dead, with the driver sustaining minor injuries.

The accident happened as the students were returning home after their exams. Eyewitnesses report that the bus was overcrowded, carrying 10 people despite its capacity being limited to 7 passengers. The devastating crash underscores the urgent need for improved safety measures in campus transportation.

Efforts to reach the university’s Counseling and Advisory Unit (CAU) for more information have been unsuccessful as of press time. The community is in mourning, with many expressing their grief and shock over the tragic loss of young lives.
