Amad Diallo sets a new Premier League record

Manchester United’s striker, Amad Diallo etched his name into the history books of the club following his impressive performance against Southampton.

The Red Devils took all three points against Southampton after spending most of the game trialling the Saints by 1-0. However, with less than 15 minutes to the end of the match, Amad Diallo stole the show by scoring three goals in just 12 minutes to give United all three points as the game ended 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Amad’s three goals came in the 82nd, 90th and fourth minute of stoppage time at Old Trafford as he became the fastest Manchester United player to score a hat-trick in Premier League history.

This is also the 11th-fastest hat-trick in a Premier League match since 2006/07 when exact goal times became available. The record for scoring the fastest hat-trick is still been held by Sadio Mane for scoring three times in two minutes and 56 seconds for Southampton against Aston Villa in 2014/15.

The Ivorian is the only player to produce a hat-trick in the Premier League at a younger age at Manchester United is club legend Wayne Rooney, who achieved the feat against Bolton Wanderers in 2006.
