A popular plastic store, Iyanu Plastic, in Osogbo was on Sunday razed by fire with property worth millions of naira destroyed.
The Assistant Director Operations, Osun Fire Service, Mr Ibrahim Adekunle, who confirmed the incident, stated that the fire started in the afternoon.
“Officials were able to subdue the fire. The fire destroyed all the plastics, and it was difficult to control because the materials were flammable.
“We were alerted to the fire at about 2:30p.m,” Adekunle told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN).
He said the service was yet to ascertain the course of the fire, adding that no fatality was recorded.
NAN reports that property worth N5.42 billion were lost to fire outbreaks in Osun between January and December, 2025.
This statistic was released by the Osun Fire Service for fire outbreaks incidences for 2025.
The record state that the property were destroyed during 101 fire disaster that happened during period.
