Nigeria‘s premier reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), is set to make a grand return on Sunday, July 28, 2024, for its ninth season. This season promises an array of exciting twists and turns that are sure to captivate audiences across Africa.

For the next 71 days, viewers will be entertained by paired housemates, a first for the show. Contestants were selected based on the unique theme of “better as pairs,” which encourages duos—be they friends, family, or partners—to compete together. This innovative format aims to add a fresh dynamic to the show’s narrative.

The grand prize for this season is an impressive N100 million, including a cash prize and an SUV. While sponsors are on board, further details on additional sponsored prizes remain unclear.

A notable change this season is the revamped Head of House (HoH) Challenge, which will feature new activities and twists, including the Custodian Challenge and Immunity Challenge, starting immediately after the launch. The new format promises a fast-paced and engaging experience right from the get-go.

Fans will also enjoy the return of the Fave Lock-In, where viewers can predict which pairs will win the Immunity Challenge, with a chance to win N1 million weekly.

In terms of hosting, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as the show’s host, bringing his signature style to the proceedings. Additionally, Toke Makinwa will host “The Buzz,” the show that will offer insights and discussions on the latest happenings in the BBNaija house.

Guinness has joined as a gold sponsor for this season, alongside other brands, ensuring robust support for the show’s return.

The premiere will air across all Africa Magic channels, with viewers able to follow the drama on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49. Engage with the show online using the hashtag #BBNaijaS9.
