Kwara Sports Commission commences camping of athletes for National Youth Games

Kwara state Sports Commission will on Wednesday, August 28 commence two weeks camping of athletes as it intensifies training in preparation for the 8th National Youth Games scheduled to hold in Asaba Delta State from September 10 to September 20.

This was contained in a statement released by the media officer of the commission, Yusuf Feruke on Tuesday.

The camping, according to the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji will commence with open camping which will close on Saturday before the athletes go into closed camping on Monday to end on September 8 as departure for the Games is fixed for 9th of September.

Meanwhile the Commission’s contingent to the team events Zonal Eliminations in Jos Plateau state will depart Ilorin on Wednesday, August 27.

Kwara will take part in two events, Basketball and football while cricket is given automatic qualification to represent the North Central zone at the Games.

The zonal eliminations will hold Thursday, August 29 to Saturday August 31.
