We Stand By Abia South Primaries Result- Abia APC

‎All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State chapter has said it stands by the result of its primaries for Abia South senatorial district for the 2027 general election.

‎The chairman, Chijioke Chukwu stated this in Umuahia, the state capital, following alleged claims by one of the contestants, Paul Ikonne that the ticket had been handed over to him.

‎Chukwu explained that the reports being circulated by Ikonne and his supporters were baseless and capable of misleading party members and the general public.

‎He warned Ikonne and his supporters against spreading misinformation capable of causing confusion, disaffection, and unnecessary tension within the party.

‎He said the primaries, which was won by Erondu Uchenna-Erondu Jr was was duly conducted on May 18, 2026, across the 65 wards in the district in line with the constitution and guidelines of the party.

‎While reaffirming the commitment of the chapter to internal democracy, party discipline, and transparent electoral processes, he called for unity among the members and stakeholders.

‎Chukwu underscored the need for them to rally round and support the duly elected candidate in the interest of the party and the people of district during the election.

According to the results announced by the chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Prof. Erasmus Cishak, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr emerged as winner.

‎Uchenna-Erondu had scored a total of 15,982 votes against Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, 4,022 votes; Prince Paul Ikonne, 4,322; and Hon. Blessing Nwagba, 4,556 votes.
